Renovatio Group partnership with OMV Petrom recognised among International Energy Awards finalists

The complex energy transaction between OMV Petrom and Renovatio Group was nominated among the finalists at the S&P Global Commodity Insights International Energy Awards, marking an important recognition for collaboration, execution and strategic alignment in Romania’s energy sector.

Ionuț Cristian Ciobotaru, Vice President for Business Development at OMV Petrom, highlighted the results of OMV Petrom’s M&A work in 2024. In his post, he noted two recognitions: the “Deal of the Year” award received at the Energynomics gala for another photovoltaic transaction, and the nomination of the complex deal with Renovatio Group among the finalists at the S&P Global Commodity Insights International Energy Awards.

For Renovatio Group, this recognition reflects the value of long-term partnerships in accelerating the development of renewable energy infrastructure. Energy transactions of this scale require more than commercial agreement. They depend on technical expertise, project maturity, legal and financial coordination, and the ability to align multiple teams around a shared objective.

The partnership with OMV Petrom is part of a broader direction for Renovatio Group: contributing to Romania’s energy transition through renewable energy projects, strategic collaborations and infrastructure built for long-term use.

As the Romanian energy market continues to evolve, transactions involving renewable assets play an important role in scaling clean energy capacity. They help move projects forward, strengthen investor confidence and support the development of a more resilient energy system.

This nomination also underlines a practical truth about the energy transition: progress depends on execution. Ambitious targets need companies that can develop projects, structure partnerships and bring together the technical and commercial elements required for real implementation.

Renovatio Group acknowledges the OMV Petrom team, its own team and all partners involved in the transaction. The recognition confirms the importance of collaboration in building the next stage of Romania’s renewable energy market.
